In The Spirit Prayer Partners

Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. I Thessalonians 5:16-18

Welcome to all of my friends

If you are here you have discovered my newest on-line blog. The purpose is to empower individuals through prayer. This is an extension of God's call for my life.

Prayer—what a powerful, wonderful gift God has given to us. Recently I was returning from a six weeks in the northwest part of the United States. Twenty-seven hours behind the wheel gives a lot of time to reflect and discern the things happening in one’s life.

To be honest, I was feeling pretty down. The first leg of my speaking tour had not been as successful as I had hoped. After five wonderful weeks I was leaving Susie and knew it would be several more weeks before we would be together again.

I was heading home to much uncertainty. The divorce is not yet final, my house lease was ending in a few short weeks and I needed to really reassess my business and most importantly, exactly where God wanted me to be in my life and in my work.

After wallowing in a time of self-pity and anger I realized it wasn’t about me, my life or my dreams. It was about following completely God’s purpose for me. As always God brought some light and vision to me. It became apparent that the focus of my life should not be on me but on serving the needs of others.

In thinking about how best to serve this call I have started this blog as a place where those in need of prayer can ask and know there are others who will lift them up in prayer.

The cool thing about prayer is there is no special language or words we need to know or say. God already knows what is in our hearts and where we need him to be. Prayer can be as simple as a reflection of your heart and your thoughts. It can be a conscious dialog with God. It can be a quiet time or shouts of acclamation. God hears all of our prayers. No matter how insignificant or how deep. He is there for us.

My God is my God. For me he has manifested through Jesus Christ and resides in my through the Holy Spirit. There was no rebirth or spectacular transformation in my life. God came to me through baptism. As a called child of God, I was brought to Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. I did not have to earn this right. Christ did that for me on the cross.

I have always struggled to push my beliefs off on others. If you have God in your life it is up to you to determine how best you can serve him. Man-made rules about God and how and who can receive salvation make me crazy.

With all of this in mind my desire is to help others find the freedom to pray for others who have needs, joys, heartaches, successes, failures and just need another voice to lift them up to God.

This page is very much a work in progress and my hope is it will evolve as a place for anyone seeking or wanting to give prayer to do so.
