To my God,

In this Christmas Season I find a renewed sense of calm andhope for the future. As I look back atthe past year, I reflect on the many blessings which I have realized. First, a new life in marriage with Susie inwhich I have found a life partner who truly loves me for me. Remind us to keep you at the center of ourmarriage and to always turn to you in times of need, in times of plenty, intimes of sorrow, and in times of joy.

We like many have faced challenges of a struggling economy,but are grateful for the gifts we have which have allowed us to weather thestorm. We pray for better daysahead.

Many in our family have experienced pain and loss in thepast year, give them comfort that you are with them in all life hands them andsurround them with your love. May theyfind peace in the coming year.

Many more have found great joy and success in the past year,may they utilize the gifts you have given them to glorify you and the blessingsthey have received. Keep them humble intheir successes and remind them that a reflection of their blessings is toshare it with others.

There are others unknown to us who have suffered great lossthrough death, jobs or family dysfunction. Give them peace of heart and mind in the knowledge that you are withthem in this time of trial.

As we celebrate the birth of Jesus keep us all mindful ofthe precious gift he gave to all of us in redeeming our sins and giving us aplace with You forever.

A Thanksgiving PrayerDear Heavenly Father,On this Thanksgiving Day we pause to reflect on a year which has provided great blessings, and some heartache all of which come with the knowledge that You have never left our side. We thank you for the richness of life which is manifested in our daily experiences. It is in the texture of such experiences we find joy, hope and the most precious gift of all, love.We thank you for bringing us together in marriage. Our lives are made whole in the love we share, a love which is given to us freely. It is our privilege and obligation to reflect this great love as an example of your love of us to our children, our friends, and even to strangers we encounter.The blessings of our children continue to bring us joy. As we continue to watch them move into adulthood we are filled with joy in their accomplishments and ask that you will continue to be with them as they go out into the world to find their way.For parents who continue to serve as examples of Godliness to us we feel especially grateful. While this has been a trying year, we are thankful they are still with us and thank you for every day we are given to share with them.Our extended family continues to grow and move in their own directions. Each has been given special gifts and abilities. Our prayer is for each of them to recognize and fully utilize these gifts. Thank you for the many people who have blessed our lives and who have worked to make this day special.

Dear Heavenly Father, There are times when I don't know how to pray. Most recently it has been for those who are homeless and hungry. It seems I should be more about action than words. Rather than asking for you to intercede, I should be doing something.

So with this in mind I ask you to give me wisdom and direction in how I can best serve this segment of our community. In serving meals with my fellow church members I have seen their faces but I do not know their hearts. Allow me to be more open and accepting of them.

Whenever I am asked to offer the mealtime prayer for them I struggle to come up with the right words. Open my heart to allow you to speak through me. She has gone through a devastating time with the recent loss of her son. Allow her to find joy in the memories of the time her son was here. Remind her that you are with her always. Reassure here that all that love her and her son and now offer her support are gifts from you.

It is often hard to feel close to you when we are hurting so deeply. Help her to find you are near to her and give her comfort. The gift of her son is made even more precious by the short time he was with us. Help all who knew him to rejoice in his life and the positives which he brought to them.

To my God and my Lord, On this Easter I thank you for the promises of the empty tomb. It is in the Risen Christ that we can cling to the hope of a better world. May we who believe be inclined to take this wonderful message into the world and share with those who may not have experienced a relationship with you.

Make us courageous ambassadors of the salvation which comes from accepting Christ as our saviour. Allow us to speak boldly and courageously this message. May there be many who accept Christ as their personal saviour. Give them also the hope of the promises which come from being in a committed relationship with you.

For many this may be a time of hopelessness and confusion. Allow the Holy Spirit to enter into their hearts and give them a sense of peace. Help them to seek answers to their questions from those who you have called to provide such answers.

Heavenly Father, On this Palm Sunday I embrace the Passion story with great thanks for the meaning of the events of the coming Holy Week. At the core of all of this is a chance for me to leave the heartache and disappointments of the past year at the foot of the cross.

In the death of Jesus let me let die those things which hold me back from being the faithful servant I have been called to be. Over the past several weeks I have had time to reflect and put my past in perspective and am now ready to leave it behind. Make me courageous in moving forward in a new life.

Thank you for the people you have put in my life to help me on this new path. In this new life allow me to be humble in my gifts but bold in my willingness to share my talents in service. As we accept this gift of unparalleled love remind us there are many who have no relationship with Jesus. The best gifts are shared. In the coming year remind us to share Him with all of those we encounter.

For those who are alone this Christmas, comfort them with the knowledge of your presence in their life. Give us the courage to reach out to those who have little or nothing.

There are many away from loved ones this year who are serving to defend our freedom. Bless them and allow us to acknowledge their sacrifices on our behalf.

For those who are hungry, depressed or unemployed give them hope for better tomorrows. Give us the caring heart to provide comfort to all of those who are less fortunate.

This time of year can be filled with sadness for many. Place joy in their hearts as they recognize your love for them. Give us open hearts to embrace those who mourn or battle personal demons.

We are in troubled times and I pray the coming year will bring new hope and opportunities to those impacted by our current economic condition.

Bless our leaders as they work to find ways of peaceful resolution to conflicts. May we become people of peace and learn to resolve our differences in nonviolent ways.

Thank you for not making winter the end of the story. In the resurrection of Jesus we are given this new life. During the autumn of the year we are given an opportunity to embrace the life you have given to us. It has been several days since I last prayed to you in this way. This past week or so has been full of anxiety, frustration and impatience. I have found my way back to a very dark place which is full of loneliness and fatigue.

Allow me also to become more trusting of you and your plan. I have sat idly by waiting for action from you when I know you have given me the tools to create my own success.

For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen

To my God, In days like this it is hard to find much to be grateful. However, I know it is in these such days which we are able to measure true blessings in our lives. Even when my frustrations are high and I tire of relying on my faith I know I must be patient.

My strong belief is you have purpose for me and you will reveal it in due time. The day will come when I will look back at this part of my life and recognize why I was here. For today it is sometimes hard to understand but I continue to trust in you.

Thank you for remaining in my life and allow me to never wander far from your love for me. Help me to be a blessing to those I encounter and always a reflection of your love. Amen

On this Saturday morning I reflect on the past week thank you for the work you have given me and for the ability to meet these tasks. I pray for the work still available to me which motivates me to a bright future.

Allow me today to enjoy some leisure and allow me also to refuel my body, mind, and spirit so I can fully engage into my work next week.

Give me patience for the potential work which still is pending. I pray these clients will see the value in the services I provide and and they will make the decisions which are right for them and their companies.

Give me a positive attitude even when expectations are not met and remind me my life exists on your time and your plan. In that knowledge give me comfort.

I pray all of this in you God and in your son who taught us all the understanding of your plan. Amen

Gracious God, today provides yet more opportunity for me to serve you. Open my eyes to this service. Give me courage and conviction to do the things you ask. Keep me aware of these opportunities.

Bless my work and those I come in contact. May they and I find our spirits uplifted by our interaction. Continue to guide me on the path you have asked me to follow. Though it may difficult and confusing, reassure me to it's purpose in serving you.

God, thank you for a terrific day. You continue to prove your presence in my life. The time with my kids was great. Thank you too for allowing me to be a blessing to those I encounter.

Continue to push me to be the person you are calling me to be. Give me the courage of my convictions and allow me to always remember you are in my life.

I pray for the many who are homeless and/or alone that they may find comfort in you. For those who do not have a relationship with you, I pray they will be drawn to you through the love of others.

The bounty of your love is revealed in the caring of friends. This day, Oh God, I offer a prayer of thanksgiving for the people you have placed in my life.

There are those who show me unconditional love, those who keep me grounded when I may try to reach too far. I also thank you for those people who are here to teach me patience and consideration. Thank you for those who may not love or even like me. It is those people which build my character.

I pray for those who are hurting in their own ways that they will come to recognize you and embrace your love. May you use me as an instrument of your love. Allow me to be a reflection of Christ to all I encounter not for my glory but for their needs.

God, for every gift you have given me I am thankful. I would ask you allow me to use it to the full measure of my ability and in me people will see you.

May this time be one of reflection and allows us a chance to turn closer to you. Give us comfort and confidence in the future you have planned for each of us. Settle our hearts as we put our trust in you and your plan for our lives.

Give us courage to reach out to those who are in need. Allow us to use our gifts fully in service to our fellow man as a reflection of your presence in our lives. Remind us you are in all things and when times are dark and difficult you are still with us.

My special friend, thank you for listening to me. You know how hard I am trying to fulfill your faith in me.
Thank You, also for the place in which I dwell. Let neither work nor play, no matter how satisfying or glorious, ever separate me for long from my precious family.
Teach me how to play the game of life with fairness, courage, fortitude and confidence.
Provide me with a few friends who understand me and yet remain my friends.
Allow me a forgiving heart and a mind unafraid to travel though the trail may not be marked.
Give me a sense of humor and a little leisure with nothing to do.
Help me to strive for the highest legitimate reward of merit, ambition and opportunity, and yet never allow me to forget to extend a kindly, helping hand to others who need encouragement and assistance.
Provide me with the strength to encounter whatever is to come, that I be brave in peril, constant in tribulation, temperate in anger and always prepared for any change of fortune.
